Originally from Java, our Gladak Houses, each over 50 years old, are preserved pieces of history, offering you a different and authentic Indonesian experience when visiting Lombok. Every house is unique, with its own story to tell, making your stay feel as personal and special as the island itself.

Authentic Indonesia Gladak Holiday Houses in Lombok
A Gladak House is a traditional wooden house from Java, built from reclaimed teak wood. It typically features a high-pitched roof and open-air spaces, making it airy and perfect for tropical climates.
Each house is over 50 years old and is a carefully preserved piece of Indonesian history. Shipped piece by piece from Java, we’ve meticulously reconstructed each one with traditional craftsmanship to restore its original charm.
Every detail has been thoughtfully selected to provide the finest comfort, ensuring that your traditional stay is as cozy as it is authentic. With six unique listings, whether you’re traveling solo or with family, we have the perfect space to make your stay unforgettable in our holiday houses in Lombok.
Airport Pick-up Service
We can arrange transport for you so an air-conditioned car(s) is waiting for your arrival and takes you in comfort to Salty Siesta Stays. Feel free to ask the driver to stop along the way to pick up any essentials you may need.
Housekeeper Services
Our villa team maintain the houses and property every day. If there is anything you need in your house, please just ask the villa team.
Wi fi & TV
Some rooms have a TV and there is excellent wi fi through-out the property. So you can take your IG shots (tag us please!) or work or the kids can stream their shows while you relax by the pool.
Laundry Services
There is a laundry service nearby and our team will be happy to help you send out any laundry you need done.
Private Parking Space
We have ample parking on the property and our security will ensure it is safe.
Gym
There is a small gym on the property that is available for guests to use. Or you could just sit in the pool with a drink.

Had the BEST time at Salty Siesta Stays! We were lucky enough to be some of the first guests, and what a fun experience! The Gladak-style houses are seriously cool—so much history, gorgeous woodwork, and little details everywhere. The staff were amazing, and the whole place has a special charm. Super walkable—just a few minutes to the beach with loads of restaurants, warungs, and stunning white sand beach. Numerous surf breaks in the area too with a wave for everyone, making it perfect for everyone from beginners to more experienced surfers. Can’t wait to come back and do it all over again! 😍🌴🏄♀️
Am so excited to spend time at this quirky and well thought out holiday destination. Have stayed in Bali many times but Lombok will be a new experience, a truly hidden treasure. Owner Wayne seems keen to cater to all needs.
A very authentic and imaginative resort incorporating adaptive re-use of traditional Indonesian teak houses. Fantastic attention to detail in the architecture and landscape. A unique resort so different to the usual resort offerings. Complemented by an affable host and very helpful staff it is a once in a lifetime experience
A secret slice of paradise
The little original Javanese houses. All the wonderful facilities (e.g always hot water in the bathroom, the coffee machine the verandah with chairs), the little touches (e.g the desk, the not overpriced mini bar, the books), good humoured Wayne very comfortable bed, good lighting. Basically, I loved it all 💖

I liked the total laidback atmosphere. Everything has the Wayne (owner) look and feel. Very comfortable to stay in one of the beautiful Java houses with all you could possibly need. Also some great beaches and restaurants nearby.
My family had a truly wonderful time staying here. The atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming, and perfectly in tune with the natural beauty of the surroundings. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed (everything you need), offering a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring. Loved the pool and water. What made the stay extra special was the warmth and friendliness of the host Wayne, Zee and Monte (friendly dog). All really made us feel at home and Wayne had great eating recommendations. The location is great for soaking in selong balanak charm (laid back), with easy access to the nearby beach (10 mins walk) with Lovely sunsets. Wayne has 4 cycles which are free to use. Kuta 30 mins by car and tangung ban (Bum bum warung & Aloha beach club) and Bikut Merese (Sunset) 45 mins. These should be visited. Hire a car or a bike which is a must to move around. Highly recommend Salty Siesta to anyone looking for a serene and memorable escape. I’d gladly return
Ons verblijf in het appartement bij Salty Siesta Stays was geweldig. Alles was uitstekend geregeld, van de voorzieningen tot de communicatie. We waardeerden het extra ledikantje dat beschikbaar werd gesteld, wat het verblijf extra comfortabel maakte. De kamer had bovendien een soort mini-bar, wat een leuke toevoeging was. De buitenruimte beschikt over diverse zitplekken, maar een klein nadeel was het beperkte aanbod van schaduw, waardoor we er helaas weinig gebruik van konden maken.

Wayne & Z were absolutely fantastic during our stay! Z was super helpful and kind whenever we needed something. Wayne organised a day tour to some islands for us and gave us so many great local recommendations. He was the best and most kind host! The bikes were great for exploring more of the area and the beach is a short cycle away. The place felt really safe, peaceful and welcoming. We loved our stay so much and could’ve stayed longer. Highly recommend Salty Siesta to anyone and everyone!
Our family of four loved staying at Salty Siesta! Even though we got really unlucky with the weather, the apartment was super cozy and we really enjoyed both the cute pool and the many great recommendations from owner Wayne! We were surprised about how many really nice restaurants there were in walking distance - special shout out to Pronto Pizza and Klub Kembali! Wayne took great care of us and was around whenever we needed help or information. The apartment (and the garden) are very well equipped, with a great comfy bed and lots of thoughtful touches. We loved the styling with numerous handpicked decorations. The nearby beach offered great sunsets and good surfing opportunities. We’d love to come again!
I just spent 2 nights in the Winfred Apartment and loved it! Can't wait for my next trip. The kitchen and living area is perfect for work - air con and coffee machine. The bedroom is spacious, with power points everywhere to charge phones and laptops, and the bathroom was like an indoor garden. It's an easy walk to the beach and cafes, but you can use the free pushbikes if go further around. Zee is excellent and really helpful if you need anything, and Monte the resort dog is the best little meet-and-greet team member I've met! I had every intention of using the gym but was too comfortable to resist a sleep-in. Thanks, Salty Siesta - will definitely be back asap.
